University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, P.R.

The University of Puerto Rico is the State University with its main campus in Rio Piedras,founded in 1903. The charmingly landscaped
main campus has several contemporary buildings among older ones. The Tower of the University with its musical Carrillon is the center
of University life.The University Museum has archeological and historic exhibitions. Another main campus is the Mayaguez University
Campus(RUM), the largest Engineering College in the Caribbean. An Administration of Regional Colleges oversees other smaller
campuses in cities through the island so as to bring College opportunities closer to the student.

Private institutions include the Interamerican University with various campuses through the island, Sacred Heart University in Santurce,
Catholic University in Ponce and Caribbean University.

Medical schools include the School of Medicine of the UPR, School of Medicine of the Catholic University in Ponce and Caribbean
Medical School in Cayey.
